Two-vehicle crash results in five injuries

(WILLISTON) -- A two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning resulted in five injuries in Williston city limits.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol,, a 2023 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 42-year-old Anna Blazicevich, of Williston, was northbound on 32nd Avenue West near the roundabout with 11th Avenue West. A 2019 Ford Edge, driven by 27-year-old Katelund Cooper, was going through the roundabout at the time of the crash.

The Jeep failed to yield to traffic in the roundabout and struck the Ford Edge, which then spun and rolled, before coming to rest on its roof. The Jeep spun ad caught on fire.

Blazicevich, the lone ocupant in the Jeep Wrangler, was transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston. Cooper, along with her passengers, 24-year-old Nessie Gutierrez, and two juvenile females, were also transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital. The Highway Patrol says Blazicevich, Cooper and Gutierrez all suffered serious injuries; while the juvenile females sustained minor injuries.

A further investigation revealed that Blazicevich was potentially under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest for criminal vehicular injury.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
