Williston woman found dead, man arrested in homicide investigation

 

A 34-year-old woman is dead after what Williston Police are calling an "act of domestic violence" early Saturday morning in Williston.

According to the Williston Police Department, at approximately 3:09 a.m., Williston Police were called for an unresponsive female in the 2200 block of 29th Avenue West and, upon arrival, 34-year-old Erica Herrera was located and pronounced deceased.

Williston Police have taken Tevin Dewayne Freeman, 29, into custody in relation to the homicide investigation. Charges are pending with the Williams County States Attorney's office.

Assisting with the investigation is the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Williams County Sheriff's Office.

Police believe the incident is isolated and that there is not an active threat to the community.
