(Heathrow, FL) -- More people could be staying home this weekend amid record gas prices.

Triple-A shows the national average rose a couple cents overnight to four-dollars and 33-cents a gallon, after surging almost 50 cents just in the past week. This is mostly due to the war in Ukraine, with the pain at the pump expected to continue.

California drivers still to pay the most at five-72, with one county topping six-bucks. Kansas is the cheapest place to fill up.

As for North Dakota, AAA says the average state wide is $3.90 a gallon, with Cass County averaging $3.88.
