(Washington, DC) -- There are more signs inflation may be cooling off.

The producer price index fell by half-a-percent in December. Analysts were looking for a drop of zero-point-one percent.

The PPI's decline follows a report released last week on the consumer price index.

It went down by zero-point-one percent in December.
