Wages increase, but growth pace slows in U.S.

(Washington, DC) -- Americans are taking home slightly more money, but wage growth is slowing.

That's the word from the federal government's latest jobs report.

It says average hourly earnings in December rose by nine-cents to 32-dollars and 82-cents an hour. That means wages have grown by four-point-six percent in the last year.

However, that's below expectations of five-percent.
