(New York, NY) -- One in ten people on Earth faced hunger last year, according to the United Nations.
A U.N. report released Wednesday found that between 702-million and 828-million people suffered from hunger in 2021. That's at least 50-million more than in 2020.
The number of people who didn't have regular access to nutritious food to live a healthy life climbed to around two-point-three billion last year, 350-million more than before the outbreak of the COVID pandemic.
