USPS asking for help keeping mail boxes clear

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The Postal Service is asking residents to help keep the area around mailboxes, sidewalks and steps clear of ice and snow.

Officials say that will allow letter carriers to deliver the mail quicker and safely.

It is helpful if the walkways are clear and snow is shoveled away from the curb so mail trucks can approach a box.

Clearing overhangs of snow and ice will also help avoid injury.
