North Dakota dairy farms on the decline

(Bismarck, ND) -- Dairy Farms seem to be drying up in North Dakota.

The State Agriculture Department reports that only 29 federally regulated dairy farms are left in the state.

That's compared to the 53 farms operating in 2020.

There are also fewer processing plants here to ship the milk.

Most dairy farmers load their milk onto semis and ship it to Pollock, South Dakota every three days.
