Williams County to assume full control of regional dispatch center

(WILLISTON) -- The Williams County Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved a move to take over full responsibility of the county's dispatch center, the Upper Missouri River Regional Dispatch Center.

The move becomes effective September 1.

According to the county, the day-to-day business of the center will remain unaffected. Since its formation in 2018, the City of Williston and Williams County have partnered to operate and fund the dispatch center. Beginning September 1, the City will no longer provide funding of the dispatch operations, and staff will become employees of Williams County.
