(Williston, ND) -- Williston Police are investigating a report of shots fired Thursday night in the City of Williston.
According to a news release from the police department, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Williston Police responded to the 1000 block of 19th Street East for a report of gunshots being heard.
When officers arrived on scene, they observed evidence and spoke with witnesses who confirmed that shots had been fired in the area, striking an apartment complex and a parked motor vehicle.
As of late Thursday, Williston Police have not received any reports of injuries.
The investigation is underway and continuing, and citizens should be aware that there is a heavy law enforcement presence on scene near the 1000 block of 19th Street East and East Dakota Parkway. As a precaution, Williston Police are asking the community to avoid the area until law enforcement have completed their on-scene investigation.
