Police Investigating Shots Fired in Residential Neighborhood

Residents and businesses in the area are asked to check their surveillance equipment for images of the suspect.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at approximately 4:30 am, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 7 Street South for shots fired. The victim stated they were letting their dog out when they were approached by a male requesting to come inside their house. The victim reports they told the person no and went inside. A short time later, the glass broke in a front window. At this time, another call came in for gunshots in the same area. Arriving officers located handgun ammunition casing and located believed bullet holes in the house.

The victim did not know the suspect. The suspect is a black male, between 5’6” and 6’ tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

The victim did not require any medical attention.

 

(Moorhead, MN) -- Moorhead Police were called out to a shots fired call around 4:30 this morning off the 400 Block of 7th Street South, Police at the scene have not commented at this time, but WDAY Radio spoke with a witness at the scene, who says her daughter was letting a family pet out of a house early this morning, when she was approached by a man asking to come inside. The woman refused and went back inside. The victims was checking the front window when three gunshots apparently were fired. According to the woman we spoke to, one of the shots went through that window and grazed the victim's arm. She was not seriously hurt.
