Towns earns nominations for Social Justice Award

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Karl-Anthony Towns is being recognized for his work off the court.

Towns was named a finalist for the 2023-24 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion Award yesterday. The award is given to an NBA player that works extensively at pursuing social justice and is a good representative of equality, respect, and inclusion. Towns helped Minnesota pass a bill that allows former convicts to vote in elections. The winner of the award will be announced next month.

Towns and the Timberwolves begin the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
