(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota State University athletics director Matt Larsen had announced a contract extension for women's basketball head coach Jory Collins.

The new deal is a five-year extension, tying Collins to NDSU through the 2028-29 season. Collins just wrapped up his fifth season with the Bison leading the program to a Division I era program high 22-11 overall record. Additionally, NDSU won its most games in Summit League play with a 13-3 mark, while also making a conference tournament championship game appearance for the first time since moving to Division I. Collins has led the Bison to back-to-back appearances in the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), including the program's first WNIT win in a victory over Montana in March.

Through five seasons with the Bison, Collins has a 77-69 overall record, including leading the team to 18-plus wins in each of the past two seasons for the first time in the Division I era. His 77 total wins are the second-most in program history behind Amy Ruley's 671 wins.

Collins has played a crucial role in helping develop 10 All-Summit League selections with the Bison. Those selections include Elle Evans, who is the programs first player to earn honors on the All-Defensive Team. In 2023, Evans also became NDSU's first Summit League Freshman of the Year.
