(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Twins are parting ways with their All-Star infielder.
The club traded Jorge Polanco to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for reliever Justin Topa, starter Anthony DeSclafani, and prospects Gabriel Gonzalez and Darren Bowen yesterday. Polanco was the longest tenured Twins player, beginning his career with the team in 2014. He was the starting shortstop for the American League All-Star team in 2019, and he hit 33 home runs in 2021.
Meanwhile, Topa had a career-year with a 2.61 ERA in 75 appearances last season, and DeSclafani went 4-8 with a 4.88 ERA in 18 starts for San Francisco.
