South Dakota State dominates Montana, win second straight FCS National Championship

(Frisco, TX) -- The South Dakota State Jackrabbit are back-to-back FCS champs following a 23-3 win over Montana at Toyota Stadium in the title game on Sunday.

The Jackrabbits led by just four at halftime, but Mark Gronkowski had a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the third quarter to help put the game away. South Dakota State held Montana to just 259 yards of total offense. Gronkowski passed for 175 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, while Isaiah Davis rushed for 87 yards and a score on the ground. The win was South Dakota State's second FCS title in program history. The Jacks finished the season with a perfect 15-0 record.

Clifton McDowell had 165 passing yards and an interception in the loss. Montana finished the season with a 13-2 record.
