The 2022 Division I FCS Football playoff bracket is officially set and it has a couple of Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) teams at the top once again. South Dakota State earned the no. 1 overall seed while North Dakota State found itself at No. 3 in the bracket. All together the MVFC ended up with three teams in the field with the University of North Dakota earning an at-large bid along with NDSU.
11 of the 24 playoff teams are automatic bids, with the exception being Davidson of the Pioneer League. St. Thomas won the Pioneer, but is currently ineligible for the playoff as they are in transition from Division III to Division I FCS.
