(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Twins blew an early four-run lead during an 8-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers at Target Field.

The Twins scored the first four runs of the game thanks to an RBI double by Royce Lewis and two-run single from Edouard Julien. However, Detroit scored three times in the third, and Griffin Jax gave up four runs in the seventh. The Tigers added a run in the top of the ninth, but the Twins scored three runs before recording an out in the bottom half of the frame. Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler both went deep, but Matt Wallner missed a walk-off home run by a couple of feet, and Donovan Solano grounded into a double-play to end the game. Jax was charged with his seventh loss in relief.

The Twins still have a 4 1/2 game lead in the AL Central at 63-59. Minnesota hosts Pittsburgh on Friday.
