(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Timberwolves might not be retaining one of the pieces they received in the D'Angelo Russell trade earlier this year.

USA Today is reporting that the Wolves are not going to give a qualifying offer to guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who will now become an un restricted free agent. Alexander-Walker was acquired by Minnesota in February. He averaged 5.9 points in 23 games off the bench for the T-Wolves last year. Minnesota can start negotiating deals with free agents today.

In other team news, the Wolves extended qualifying two-way contracts to Matt Ryan and Luka Garza yesterday.
