On Friday evening the Minnesota Twins began their weekend series with a 2-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
Starting pitcher Bailey Ober had a solid outing, tossing seven shutout innings with six strikeouts while only giving up three hits. Jorge Lopez was given the eighth inning, striking out one batter and earning his sixth hold of the season. Jhoan Duran shut the door in the ninth inning with two strikeouts and recorded his seventh save of the season.
The game’s only score came in the top of the sixth inning on a 440 foot Max Kepler two run home run, his fourth long ball of the season.

The Twins and Guardians will square off in the second game of their series on Saturday evening with first pitch scheduled for 5:10 p.m. Sonny Gray will be on the bump for Minnesota.
