The Minnesota Twins have officially locked up starting pitcher Pablo López to solidify the pitching staff for years to come.

López and the organization have agreed to a four year extension worth $73.5 million that will begin next season. The new deal will keep López in a Twins uniform through the 2027 season.

He has only made four starts for Minnesota, but that was enough for the front office to make the decision to sign him for years to come. In those starts, López has a 1-1 record with a 1.73 ERA, including 33 strikeouts over 26 innings.

López spent the first five seasons (2018-2022) of his big league career with the Miami Marlins before being traded to Minnesota this past offseason. He made 94 starts with Miami tallying a 28-31 record with a 3.94 ERA that included 489 strikeouts over the span of 510 innings pitched.
