(New York, NY) -- More than 14-hundred workers in New York City are out of a job.

They were officially fired after refusing to get vaccinated against coronavirus. Nearly all of them had been on unpaid leave for more than three months and most worked for the education department. Another nine-thousand workers are still trying to fight the vaccine mandate.

The city has been handing out free at-home tests and will continue doing so Tuesday.
