Bismarck man arrested after authorities claim he assaulted police

(Bismarck, ND) -- A Bismarck man who fought with police faces criminal charges.  

Police were called to a park on a report of a man acting strangely. Officers encountered Chad Tarno, who they say was slurring his words and smelled of alcohol.  When officers tried to detain him, Tarno began kicking and spitting at them.  

Once the officers got him under control, he was taken to jail on charges of preventing arrest and attempted assault on a peace officer.
