(Grand Forks, ND) -- Former democratic state legislator Judy DeMers has died.
DeMers represented Grand Forks in the state House from 1983 to 1991 and then in the state Senate from 1993 to 2000.
DeMers also served for 27 years as an associate dean for student affairs and admissions at UND School of Medicine.
The university says she passed away last week.
