Enrollment at UND up 2.5%, bucking national trend

(Fargo, ND) -- UND President Andrew Armacost says enrollment this semester is up 2.5 percent compared to last fall, bucking a national trend, where many schools are reporting declining enrollments.

"Enrollments are key for several reasons. The first is to offer a great education to as many people as we can. The second, as universities look to thrive, having the tuition coming in as well as the support from the state as well as support from donors, all of those facets kind of make the whole picture complete," said Armacost.

Enrollment last fall at UND totaled 13,876.
