Biden Administration approves major disaster declaration for North Dakota ice storm

(Bismarck, ND) -- The Biden Administration has approved a presidential major disaster declaration for North Dakota's December ice storm.

The declaration unlocks FEMA money to help pay for repair costs estimated by the state to total over 11-point-five-million dollars.

The storm, which rolled across the state from December 25th through the 27th, brought accumulating ice and straight-line winds, making roads un-drivable, damaging over 2-thousand power poles, and leaving over 20-thousand people without power.

Thirteen counties requested assistance.
