(Bismarck, ND) -- The City of Bismarck is working on a new flood risk map as flood mitigation efforts continue.
The city has released its annual Flood Mitigation Progress Report, and officials say there's still work to be done to lower the area's flooding risk, including an updated map. It will play an important role by showing the areas of highest risk and allowing people to get flood insurance through the national flood insurance program.
The State Water Commission is working with FEMA to review the current map, and officials say the new map will be completed by this June. You can find current city flood information by clicking here.
