North Dakota insurance commissioner to run for another term

(Bismarck, ND) -- The head of the North Dakota Insurance Department is running for reelection.

Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread broke the news earlier today saying he will try for another four-year term.

The Republican politician was first elected in 2016.

During his tenure, Godfread says his focus has been on advocating  for consumers, cybersecurity, and healthcare reform.

He was recently elected to serve as president within the National Association of Insurance Commissioner next year.

The state's 2024 primary is scheduled to take place this summer.
