Sandi Sanford elected chairwoman of NDGOP by single vote

(Bismarck, ND) -- A new Chairperson is elected to lead the North Dakota Republican Party.

Sandi Sanford narrowly won the race against incumbent Perrie Schafer on a 29-28 vote. The vote occurred at a state meeting with party officials on Friday. Sandi is the wife of former Lt. Governor Brent Sanford, and has been active in both state and federal politics for 26 years.
