Clay County Government soon to celebrate its 150th anniversary

(Clay County, MN) -- Clay County will soon be celebrating an important milestone in it's century and-a-half long lifespan.

Clay County was originally formed on March 8th, 1862. However, they officially organized a governmental structure in 1872.  April marks the 150th year of the formation of Clay County Government. 

Historians say Clay County did not its steady growth until railroads came to the area. That is when the region began its trade of crops and expedited their fur trade.
