SD House Leaders Want Special Session To Consider Ravnsborg Impeachment

(Pierre, SD) -- South Dakota House leaders are asking for a special session in order to consider whether to impeach State Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.

House Majority Leader Kent Peterson announced Thursday that he is requesting that lawmakers be allowed to return to Pierre in November to look into taking action against Ravnsborg.

Ravnsborg was convicted last month of a two misdemeanor traffic charges stemming from his role in a crash that killed a pedestrian last year.

Peterson says the House had previously voted to evaluate Ravnsborg's status after the judicial process had been completed.
