(Washington, DC) -- Hunter Biden will give a closed-door testimony on Capitol Hill today in the impeachment inquiry of his father President Biden.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer says the investigation has "unearthed substantial evidence" Biden used his time as vice president to improperly benefit his family financially. Comer said the Biden's had 20 shell companies that raked in millions of dollars from entities in China, Russia Ukraine and others.
Comer accused the president of lying about his involvement in his son's foreign business dealings.
Hunter Biden has previously read a statement to reporters outside the U.S. House, calling the inquiry a "baseless and destructive political charade".
"For more than a year, your Committees have hunted me in your partisan political pursuit of my dad," Hunter Biden said. "You have trafficked in innuendo, distortion, and sensationalism — all the while ignoring the clear and convincing evidence staring you in the face. You do not have evidence to support the baseless and MAGA-motivated conspiracies about my father because there isn’t any."
A transcript of Hunter Biden's closed door testimony is expected to be released following the meeting.
