Flesh-eating bacteria Infections in U.S. may be on the rise

(Undated)  -- There's growing concern that flesh-eating bacteria infections in the U.S. known as Vibrio may be on the rise.  

Some experts think climate change is fueling Vibrio's expanding reach, including up the East Coast.  

The flesh-eating bacteria, linked to consuming infected raw oysters, thrives in brackish water and is more commonly a problem in Florida, Louisiana and Texas.  

But this summer there was a death in Missouri, two deaths in Connecticut, one in New York and three in North Carolina.  

This as the U.S. experienced heat waves and above average sea water temperatures.
