(Washington, D.C.) -- Some lawmakers want to investigate GoFundMe after it shut down fundraising for Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 restrictions. Senator Ted Cruz is one of them.

The Texas Republican accused the Canadian government of trying to suppress peaceful protest, an abuse of power he says is compounded by GoFundMe not giving ten-million-dollars raised to the truckers in the so-called "Freedom Convoy."  The truckers have snarled the center of Ottawa and other areas across the nation.

Other Republicans are also on board with probing GoFundMe's practices, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
