FBI investigating pedestrian fatality near New Town

(NEW TOWN) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating a pedestrian fatality in Mountrail County early Friday morning.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol received a report at 3:45 a.m. Friday regarding a female pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle on Highway 23, approximately one mile east of New Town. A 31-year-old Roseglen, N.D., woman was found deceased. A witness to the incident advised authorities that a vehicle had struck the vehicle and left the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the FBI, with assistance from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police and the Mountrail County Sheriff's Office.
