(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski says he is working with Jake Wallin's parents to plan the officer's funeral.
They also are talking about Jake's commitment to serve.
"They recognize just like when you watch Jake's video that this is something that he wanted to do. He wanted to have meaning and purpose in his life. One of the conversations with the dad too is if I had said 'Jake you are going to get shot tomorrow' he would have gone to work anyway. That just speaks about the character of Jake Wallin and his courage as well," said Zibolski.
In an interview with The Flag's Scott Hennen, Zibolski was not able to provide updates on the investigation into Friday's shooting.
He said the case is being handled entirely by the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the FBI.
