Morton County clarifies absentee ballot and in-person voting for the General Election

The following press release is from Morton County Auditor Dawn Rhone:

Many Morton County voters are receiving absentee ballots in the mail because they selected to receive a ballot for the general election when they submitted an application for a ballot prior to the primary election in June. Absentee ballots were sent to all voters with an application on file.

If anyone received an absentee ballot but would like to vote in person at early voting or on Election Day, they may do so by taking the unmarked ballot received in the mail to the polling place when they go to vote.

“There has been some confusion because some voters weren’t aware that they would be receiving a General Election ballot based on the options they selected on the application they submitted prior to the Primary Election in June,” said Morton County Auditor Dawn Rhone. “Voters are welcome to vote using the absentee ballots and return them in person or in the dropbox in front of the courthouse by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 2 or by mailing them no later than November 2, or they can still vote in person if they prefer.”
