(Los Angeles, CA) -- Bad weather didn't stop NASCAR from waving the green flag for its season opener.
Denny Hamlin took home the checkered flag in the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum following an overtime restart. Hamlin edged runner-up Kyle Busch and earned his fourth career victory in the season opener. NASCAR officials moved the race from Sunday night to Saturday evening due to torrential rain in Los Angeles. Last season's Cup Series winner Ryan Blaney finished in third, while Joey Logano and Kyle Larson rounded out the top-five.
The field gets a week off before the Duels at Daytona begin on the 15th.
