Turnovers cost Vikings in season opening loss to Buccaneers

(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Vikings committed three first-half turnovers during a 20-17 loss to the Buccaneers at US Bank Stadium.

Minnesota racked up over 100 more yards from scrimmage than Tampa Bay, but Kirk Cousins lost two fumbles and threw an interception in the loss. Cousins passed for 344 yards with two touchdowns and a pick, while Justin Jefferson caught nine passes for 150 yards. Jordan Addison also hauled in a touchdown pass in his NFL debut. The Vikings take on the Eagles on Thursday.

In other team news, Minnesota inked back-up safety Josh Metellus to a two-year extension over the weekend.
