Five home runs power Twins past Rangers

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Ryan Jeffers came through in the clutch as the Twins beat the Texas Rangers 7-5 at Target Field.

Jeffers hit a pinch-hit, two-run home run to break a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the eighth. The Twins overcame a three-run deficit by hitting five home runs in the game. Michael A. Taylor went deep twice, while Royce Lewis and Kyle Farmer also homered. Josh Winder earned his second win in relief, and Griffin Jax picked up his second save.

The Twins have a six-game lead over Cleveland in the AL Central at 66-62. Sonny Gray starts for Minnesota against the Rangers tonight.
