Mercury's Taurasi reaches 10,000 career points

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Diana Taurasi is making more WNBA history.

The Phoenix Mercury star guard became the first player in league history to score 10-thousand career points. Taurasi reached the mark in the third quarter of Thursday's game against the Atlanta Dream. The 41-year-old took over as the WNBA's all-time leading scorer in 2017 and has continued to rewrite the record books.

Taurasi is in her 19th season with the Mercury and is a three-time WNBA champion.
