On Monday, the Minnesota Wild and Filip Gustavsson agreed to terms on a new three-year contract worth $11.25 million ($3.75 AAV). With the new deal both sides avoided an arbitration hearing that was set for Friday. Per The Athletic, the new contract also has a five-team no-trade clause for the final season that begins in the final year of his current deal on July 1, 2025.

Gustavsson has a career year in 2022-23 posting a 22-9-7 record. Additionally, he had a 2.10 GAA and a .931 SV%.

Heading into the 2023-24 season the Wild will have Gustavsson as their lead goaltender with future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury also taking part of the workload as the backup between the pipes. In Iowa, the Wild have a highly regarded goaltending prospect in Jesper Wallstadt. The 20-year-old Wallstedt is potentially the future Wild netminder depending on how Gustavsson performs under his new deal.

In other team news, Minnesota now has the opportunity to re-sign restricted free agent defenseman Calen Addison. The Wild have $1.643 million in current available cap space heading into the season.
