Twins crumble late in loss to Braves

(Cumberland, CA) -- The Atlanta Braves hit a pair of seventh-inning homers during a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Twins at Truist Park.

The game was tied at one entering the frame, but Marcell Ozuna socked a go-ahead solo shot. Ronald Acuna Jr. gave Atlanta some insurance with a two-run bomb later in the inning. Spencer Strider improved to 9-2 after striking out ten and holding the Twins to one run in seven innings, and Kirby Yates earned his first save. Atlanta is on a three-game winning streak.

Joey Gallo hit his 13th home run in the losing effort. Sonny Gray was charged with his second loss after surrendering three runs in 6 2/3 innings. The Twins have dropped two of three.

The Twins and Braves will continue their series on Tuesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:20 p.m. in front of a nationally televised audience on TBS. Joe Ryan will be on the mound for Minnesota.
