NDSU’s Nelson has been named the Summit League Male Peak Performer of the Month for February

North Dakota State University men’s basketball junior forward Grant Nelson has been named the Summit League Male Peak Performer of the Month for February. The award is given out monthly to the most outstanding student-athlete across all sports and all league schools.

In eight games throughout the month of February, Nelson averaged 20.1 points, 11.5 rebound, 3.1 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game. Overall from the field he shot 55 percent, including 36 percent from three-point range. During the month he recorded seven straight double-doubles that included a 27 point and 15 rebound performance at South Dakota State on Feb. 4.

Nelson has surpassed 500 points scored this season, becoming the 21st player in program history to achieve the mark in a single season.
