University of North Dakota Junior forward Riese Gaber was one of six players named to the 2022-23 National COllegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Preseason All-Conference Team.

Media members who cover the conference vote for three forwards, two defensemen, and one goaltender. The top three vote getting forwards, top two defensemen, and the vote leading goaltender make up the preseason all-conference team. A total of 23 ballots were submitted in voting for the All-NCHC preseason team. Gaber is the lone returner from last season’s All-NCHC First Team.

Last season he played in 34 games, leading the Fighting Hawks with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 total points en route to earning All-NCHC First Team honors, including Hobey Baker Award nomination.

Gaber was limited to playing in 19 NCHC games last season, but he dominated in those contests. He racked up nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points. During his dominating conference run, he had seven multi-point performances and scored three game winning goals.

Gaber will once again play a large part for UND as he’ll be sporting an A on his jersey as an assistant captain, voted on by his teammates.
