Leo Piña Has Been Named the American Association Batter of the Month

     Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks infielder Leo Piña has been named the American Association Batter of the Month for June, the league announced.

     Throughout the month Piña was named the American Association of Professional Baseball’s (AAPB) Batter of the Week for the weeks of June 13-19 and 20-26. Piña became the first American Association player to win the Batter of the Week award in back-to-back weeks since 2008. He became the first RedHawks to be named Batter of the Month since Drew Ward did so in August of 2020.

     During the month of June Piña played in 26 games with a .433 batting average that included 11 doubles, six home runs, 29 runs scored, and 20 runs batted in. He also led the RedHawks with a .712 slugging percentage. Piña recorded a hit in 23 of the 26 games throughout the month.
