Former UND Goaltender Cam Johnson Has Won an ECHL Title and Playoff MVP with the Florida Everblades

     Former University of North Dakota goaltender Cam Johnson has added another championship to his trophy case. In 2016 he led UND to the program's eighth national championship and he added an ECHL championship this past weekend. His Everblades defeated the Toledo Walleye in the championship series in five games.

     Johnson earned the league’s postseason MVP finishing with a 15-3 record, a .931 save percentage, and a 1.90 goals against average (GAA) helping lead the Everblades to the franchise’s second title. In 18 games he recorded four shutouts, the second most in a single postseason in league history.

     He played for North Dakota for four seasons from 2014-18 and left Grand Forks as one of the top goaltenders in program history. The Troy, Mich., native ranks fourth all-time in wins (56), sixth in games (102), second in GAA (2.10), sixth in save percentage (.914), and second in shutouts (12) in his UND career.
