University of North Dakota senior defensive back Evan Holm has signed a professional contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Monday, the organization announced. With the signing there are now two former Fighting Hawks on the Blue Bombers, including Brady Oliveira who signed in 2019.

Holm started in all 11 games last season for UND at defensive back. He tallied 45 total tackles, good for fourth on the team. Holm also added a pair of interceptions and four pass breakups in the 2021 campaign.

He was versatile for the Hawks, playing a part in the return game. Holm returned 20 kicks for 410 yards, averaging 20.5 yards per return. After the season he was named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society and earned a spot on the ALL-MVFC second team.

The Blue Bombers will begin their pre-season slate on Friday when they host the Edmonton Elks at 7:30 p.m.

Holm joins three other UND products on active Canadian Football League rosters. Holm and Oliveira play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, while Mason Bennett is with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Deion Harris plays for the Toronto Argonauts.
