The University of North Dakota can once again boast about being the best college hockey town in the country. This year marks the eighth straight year that UND has led the nation in attendance with an average of 11,294 fans per contest.

Only one program in college hockey averaged over 10,000 people in attendance per game… And it was the Fighting Hawks! Wisconsin (9,736), Minnesota (7,913), Penn State (5,976), and Minnesota Duluth (5,882) rounded out the top-5 in per game attendance.

UND was not only the top collegiate program in fan attendance, but the Hawks also outdrew two NHL teams, the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators.

Over the past three seasons UND has a 41-8-1 record at home along with winning the Penrose Cup in each season. North Dakota is the first program in NCHC history to win three straight Penrose Cups.
