The Minnesota Timberwolves Have Extended Head Coach Chris Finch

     The Minnesota Timberwolves are sold on second year head coach Chris Finch. This morning the two sides agreed to terms on a multiyear contract extension, but the terms were not disclosed. Finch’s staff also received an extension in the deal.

     The Wolves wrapped up the 2021-22 regular season with a 46-36 record, which is the seventh-best single season record in franchise history. Minnesota led the NBA in points per game (115.9) for the first time in franchise history. They also led the league in made 3-pointers with 1,211 and forced turnovers with 1,339.

     Finch’s current .504 winning percentage is the second-best in franchise history only trailing the late Flip Sainders’ .521 winning percentage.

     The Timberwolves have earned the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, but will have to win a play-in game to officially earn the seed. Tomorrow night Minnesota will host the No. 8 seeded Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA play-in. Tip is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

     The winner between Minnesota/Los Angeles will be the No. 7 in the playoffs. The loser will square off with the winner of New Orleans/San Antonio for the No. 8 seed.
