Former American Association All-Star Drew Ward Is Returning To The RedHawks

     As the baseball season looms, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are reconnecting with an old friend. The RedHawks have announced the signing of 2020 American Association All-Star infielder Drew Ward.

     In his first go around with Fargo-Moorhead, Ward was phenomenal batting .335 with 17 home runs and 45 RBI. He also had 14 doubles and 42 runs scored in 57 games.

     Ward was one of the top players in the American Association leading the league in batting average (.335), total bases (138), and extra-base hits (31).

     After the 2020 season, Ward signed with the Detroit Tigers. He was then assigned to their Double-A affiliate Erie SeaWolves for 2021. He ended up playing in 78 games with 66 hits that included 16 home runs and 54 RBI.

     The RedHawks will kickoff the 2022 American Association season on Friday, May 13 at the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Fargo-Moorhead will take on the Milwaukee Milkmen in the home opener at Newman Outdoors Field on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m.
